TABLE MOUNTAIN
Table Mountain is located in South Africa, Cape town. It’s 1,084.6 m tall and it’s about 3km and 2miles from side to side. Table Mountain is famous because it is shaped like a table and that is where the mountain got the name too.
History
Antonio de saldanha was the first European to land on Table bay. He climbed the mighty mountain in 1503 and named it Taboa do cabo (Table of the cape, in his native Portuguese). In November 2011 Table Mountain was named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World according to votes.
Wildlife
There are 22 snake species on the mountain, of which five are deadly and only ten non-venomous. The deadly ones include the cape cobra, puff adder, boom slang, Rink Hals and Berg adder. In the streams that flow off and over Table mountain, three amphibian species: the endangered Table mountain ghost frog with it’s long legs, the cape chirping frog, the leaping and plopping cape river frog.
Getting to Table Mountain
When going up on the cable car it also rotates while going up. The cable car rotates 360 degrees. It is scary but fun. Going up on the cable car is 5- 10 minutes. There are a couple of ways to get up 1.Cable car. 2. Biking (If you are fit). 3.Bus.

Overall Table mountain is a dry and warm. A summer on November-February is cold and chilly below 5 degrees. February- May in the morning it is 40 degrees and above. May- November is really windy and a little cold.
