The Chagga people
The Chagga people live near Moshi on the southern and eastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. The Chaggaland were traditionally divided into Chiefdoms. Bananas are the Chagga staple food; yams, beans, and maize are also part of the Chagga cuisine. The importance of ancestors is strongly maintained by the Chagga to this day. Section of the high forest contains old shrines with Masale plantings, the sacred Chagga plant.
Climate
It has the highest amount of all zones, resulting in high levels of humidity. A vast array of vegetarian and wildlife supported by the climate zone, including brightly colored plants, black and white Columbus monkey and blue monkey. The temperature in Mount Kilimanjaro is 25c. The humidity is 50%.
